Gose Good Vibration: a collaboration between Otus and Radiocraft.
Good Vibration is a Gose beer where acidity and sapidity are perfectly balanced, a one-shot beer originated from the collaboration between Otus and Radiocraft Brewery.
Good Vibration is the new beer from our Otuslab, the creative laboratory dedicated to one-shot beer creation, produced with only one brew: a beer in Gose style, born from the collaboration with Radiocraft Brewery from Albano Laziale (RM).
Gose is a low-alcohol wheat beer, whose origin has to be traced in Eastern Germany, in Goslär, a small city in Lower Saxony, where salty water was balanced by acidity derived from spontaneous fermentation. Gose are fresh beers, perfect for summer.
«While creating this Gose-styled beer we combined our experience with the Radiocraft Brewery one. We share the creative approach in beer production, that expresses the continuous search for innovative beers and the awareness that beer has deep popular roots, in the most positive sense». [Alessandro Reali – Otus Brewery Brewmaster]
We chose to use Pils malt, pale wheat, oat and Magnum hop. Wheat contributes to beer’s simple body, while Madernina Lemon from Lake Garda (from La Malora di Gargnano lemon house) offers citrus hints.
«Good Vibration originates from my desire and Alessandro’s one to break with beer standards with which we are used to work while producing beers. Gose beer is acidified with lactic strains and then gets fermented with spices and salt. The traditional recipe requires coriander, but we can “play” with many other spices, while in the most modern versions fruit is added. Alessandro and I decided to use products from the territory: the zest of Madernina Lemon, a Lake Garda local lemon variety used at the end of the fermentation, gives an aromatic, soft and enveloping bouquet. Gose is a fresh beer, perfect for summer». [Enrico Girelli –Radiocraft Brewery Brewmaster]
To sum up, Good Vibration is a top-fermented beer with a particular lactic strain that produces both alcohol and lactic acid. It has a citrus and floral aroma. To the taste, acidity and sapidity from salt are perfectly balanced. Colour is pale (6 EBC), bitterness is moderate (12 EBC) and alcohol content is quite low (4,3 ABV). It will be tapped in pubs from the beginning of May.
